ACC and Shockwave therapy West Auckland

ACC New Zealand, also known as the Accident Compensation Corporation, is a government-funded organisation that provides comprehensive injury insurance coverage for New Zealand residents and visitors. ACC covers many injuries, including those that may benefit from shockwave therapy.

Shockwave therapy is a non-invasive treatment that uses acoustic waves to target musculoskeletal conditions, promoting pain relief and tissue repair. It has been successfully used to treat various injuries, such as tendinopathies, plantar fasciitis, and chronic muscle pain.

If you have suffered an injury that may benefit from shockwave therapy, it is important to consult with a healthcare professional who can assess your condition and determine if shockwave therapy is suitable for you. If deemed appropriate, ACC may cover the cost of shockwave therapy as part of your injury treatment and rehabilitation plan.

It is recommended to contact ACC or your healthcare provider for specific information regarding coverage and eligibility for shockwave therapy under the ACC scheme. Typically ACC does not cover Shockwave therapy as a standalone treatment; however, your healthcare provider may incorporate it as part of their treatment for an additional surcharge.
